About Kathy Regalado
When confronted with challenging times, it is normal for some to feel stuck, scared, lost, or doubtful about the future. It is important to recognize that you are not alone in these struggles. Together, we can explore your feelings and concerns at a pace that feels comfortable to you and identify techniques and tools that may help you attain the peace and clarity that you look for in order to move forward.
My approach to counseling is one that does not solely focus on the individual themselves but dives deeper to learn about their family, communities, and culture. I view my role as helping you to enhance your own motivation, increase your understanding of harmful thoughts and behavior patterns, and to provide support as you develop new skills. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults on a variety of issues that may include anxiety, self-esteem, body image issues, relationship issues, life transitions, grief, trauma, attachment, and ADHD. I have a passion for working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and first-generation individuals and I devote my time to recognizing the differences among my clients’ worldviews and aim to create a brave space where issues can be discussed freely without them fearing judgment.
As a therapist (LPC-Associate), my goal is to ensure I do my best to help you feel empowered and encouraged as we establish a collaborative therapeutic relationship together and work towards achieving your goals. I also hope to provide you with the opportunity to work on increasing your self-compassion and identifying your sources of strength and resilience. If you choose to schedule a session with me, I would be honored to assist you on your healing journey!
