About Neha Asif
I understand that therapy can be a vulnerable and daunting endeavor. My goal as a therapist is to ensure my clients are comfortable by providing a non-judgmental & accepting environment. I believe the first step to a successful therapy experience is a good therapeutic relationship. It is important that I understand my clients with all the context that makes them who they are. I believe it is important to emphasize on intersectionality and the systemic influences that have shaped our individual lives. I take heed to racial and minority trauma and aim to provide appropriate care and treatment to my clients by hearing and understanding their experiences.
I have experience in relational therapy (couples & family) as well as individual therapy. My personal clinical interest and expertise lies in trauma-informed care, intersectionality & systemic influences on mental health, and BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ mental health. I take a collaborative approach to therapy and believe in transparency with my clients. Together, we can understand what your unique needs are and what will help address those needs. Attachment is also a key tenant to my therapeutic style. I believe that our close relationships are fundamental to our individual experiences and can have a profound impact on our mental & emotional well-being. I aim to help guide my clients through self-reflection and insight and foster agency in the story of their lives.
I received my M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland and my B.S. in Psychology and Child Learning & Development from the University of Texas at Dallas. I received my LMFT-A license in Texas and my license number is #204260. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, catching up on the latest TV show, and taking a walk outside to enjoy some beautiful scenery.
